Entry 8 - Day 3

What a day!  I cannot remember the last time I felt so elated, proud or excited by something I've achieved.  I am going to survive on this beautiful, forsaken, water-logged rock and there's nothing it can do about it!

Spent the morning catching fish, especially the ones which the scanner said had a high moisture content.  So I've eaten a lot of cooked Peepers & Garry Fish between dives, at least I was until the PDA figuring out how to fabricate disinfected water.  That first drink was amazing, even if it did have a chemical aftertaste.

Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself.  I've spent the day scanning everything in the local area that stayed still long enough, and the PDA now has enough data to rebuild some of the corrupted blueprints from the survival database.  I still need to find more materials, but at least now I have a better idea of what I need.

I've been able to fabricate breathing apparatus & fins, as well as a knife, so gathering resources has become a whole lot easier.  I also found some salt deposits near the lifepod, which the fabricator combined with the samples I'd cut from those giant coral tubes to make bleach to disinfect the water.  Hopefully I can also find some more salt to cure some of the fish, which would be a lot easier than having to catch them every time I want to eat.

So yeah... a much more positive day, even though the PDA continues to warn me about the condition of Aurora's drive core.  Not that there's anything I can do about that right now, apart from hope it doesn't get any worse.

Ryley out.
