Entry 11 - Day 5

Image
The Aurora exploded!  I was sat on the roof of the lifepod and it just blew up! There was a spike in radiation when it happened and the PDA has unlocked an emergency blueprint for a protective suit, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do now.  What if there were other survivors on board?  Should I go and see, or is that too dangerous?   I don't know what I'm supposed to do now...

Entry 10 - Day 4

The PDA has just said that the Aurora's drive core has reached critical and a 'quantum detonation' is going to happen in 2 hours.  I don't know if it means Earth standard hours or whether its extrapolating based on this planet's rotation, but either way I don't know what will happen. If this is my last log, my name is Ryley Robinson and for a while I proved that I was more than just a 'non-essential'.  I'm proud of that, if nothing else. Ryley out.

Entry 9 - Day 4

For the first time since crashing here, I am neither hungry or thirsty.  I've got disinfected water and salt cured Peeper fish in the storage locker, plus I've eaten my fill of cooked fresh Garry fish.  It's so much easier to explore here knowing that I have food waiting for me back at the lifepod.   It's a relief not to  be constantly worrying about whether I was going to be able to eat or if I'd find any water, which was as stressful mentally as it was physically.  I feel like I've moved from surviving to living, if that's not too big a claim. Anyway, I've finally managed to construct a repair tool, even if finding sulphur meant going into some scary caves and having some kind of weird puffer fish literally blow itself up as a defence mechanism!  Seriously, the thing actually exploded... I mean, what kind of evolutionary nonsense is that?! Regardless, lifepod 5 is now fully functional and the short-range radio is working again.  Not that I have ...

Entry 8 - Day 3

What a day!  I cannot remember the last time I felt so elated, proud or excited by something I've achieved.  I am going to survive on this beautiful, forsaken, water-logged rock and there's nothing it can do about it! Spent the morning catching fish, especially the ones which the scanner said had a high moisture content.  So I've eaten a lot of cooked Peepers & Garry Fish between dives, at least I was until the PDA figuring out how to fabricate disinfected water.  That first drink was amazing, even if it did have a chemical aftertaste. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself.  I've spent the day scanning everything in the local area that stayed still long enough, and the PDA now has enough data to rebuild some of the corrupted blueprints from the  survival   database.  I still need to find more materials, but at least now I have a better idea of what I need. I've been able to fabricate breathing apparatus & fins, as well as a knife, so ...
