Entry 9 - Day 4
For the first time since crashing here, I am neither hungry or thirsty. I've got disinfected water and salt cured Peeper fish in the storage locker, plus I've eaten my fill of cooked fresh Garry fish. It's so much easier to explore here knowing that I have food waiting for me back at the lifepod.
It's a relief not to be constantly worrying about whether I was going to be able to eat or if I'd find any water, which was as stressful mentally as it was physically. I feel like I've moved from surviving to living, if that's not too big a claim.
Anyway, I've finally managed to construct a repair tool, even if finding sulphur meant going into some scary caves and having some kind of weird puffer fish literally blow itself up as a defence mechanism! Seriously, the thing actually exploded... I mean, what kind of evolutionary nonsense is that?!
Regardless, lifepod 5 is now fully functional and the short-range radio is working again. Not that I have anyone to talk to yet, but the automatic distress beacon is now broadcasting so it'll just be a matter of time. I just have to stay alive and wait. Someone will find me soon.
