Entry 47 - Day 26

 

I'm sat on a little beach in a cove surrounded by high cliffs, and I'm just watching the stars in the night sky as the Skyrays whirl and circle overhead.  It's peaceful and quiet. Just the lapping of the waves against the sand and the calls of the Skyrays.

[A pause, followed by the sound of a deep sigh]

I found a PDA on this beach. It was left behind by Keen, I think. Took me all day wandering around this island to find this place and there it was, glowing in the half light as the sun was setting.

Only Second Officer Keen and Chief Technical Officer Yu made it to the rendezvous point. Only three of us survived long enough to make it this location out of a crew of 148 people. A senior officer, a highly qualified engineer and me... a glorified janitorial supervisor.

The pair of them tried to go back to The Aurora and get the long range scanners working, hoping to send out another distress signal, but Keen's last message synced to this PDA. They were attacked by that same Leviathan-Class Predator that I heard about before. 

Doesn't look like they made it either, and they didn't even make it as far as The Aurora.

So, I'm going to sit here on this beach, where it's safe and quiet. When the sun comes up, I'll deal with whatever happens next, but right now...

[another deep sigh]

Right now, it's just me, this beach, the stars and the Skyrays.
